We know that without visa and essential documents, we can’t really travel the world. However, there are some places that even visa can’t guarantee your entry there! These places are either too dangerous, mysterious, haunted or highly protected so that no one can ever enter.

If you are a traveler and wish to explore the world, here is a list of ten forbidden places that you should know before heading to the quest of exploring the world.   1. North Sentinel Island, India

A tribe named Sentinel that lives in the North Sentinel Island, they are resilient to travelers and visitors. If anyone dares to visit their land, the tribe instantly strike back and can kill you on the spot. Even the laws have prohibited to travel around this island.

In 2018, a US missionary attempted to establish contact with Sentinel people but was quickly retaliated and killed by bow and arrows. The tribe has made it clear that they have no interest in developing contact from the outside world.

 

  1. Snake Island, Brazil

About 40 kilometres right off Brazil’s offshore, there is an island called ‘Snake Island’. Humans are strictly forbidden from entering the Island, as there are five snakes found every square meter. This is not the place that even a snake lover would want to go, as it is home to one of the deadliest snakes in the world.

Golden Lance head, a unique specie of the pit viper, believed to be the most deadly of its kind and are usually found in this island. A Lance head venom is so lethal for humans that we can die in an hour of being bitten with this snake. These vipers caused more deaths than any other snake on North and South America.

 

  1. Svalbard Global Seed Vault, Norway

It is also referred to as “The Doomsday Vault” because the vault stores all the floral seeds of species in case of any catastrophic damage to the global vegetation system. The vault is disaster-resistant such as earthquakes and explosions and can last for about 200 years. Since it is located at the side of the mountain in Norway, it will still be above sea level, even if all the ice on the earth melts.

Interestingly, this vault has great importance in the world and beyond any politics, as North Korea has also contributed rare floral seeds for storage there. This seed bank illustrates how we are really preparing for the end of the world!

This place serves as the storage space of all the important documents of the Catholic Church. The storehouse in Vatican City contains all the documentation and orders implemented by the Holy See and belonged to the Pope until he resigns or dies. This place holds great cultural significance for the people of China! The tomb of Qin Shi Huang, died in 210 B.C, is surrounded and protected by the army made of clay. The government tends to respect this historical figure and hence, forbidden everyone from visiting the place. Though, only higher authorities and heads of other countries can come to visit this place only in their official tour to China.

 

  1. Poveglia Island, Italy

This small island is located between Venice and Lido. Back in the days, the island used to be an isolation ward during the great Plague. More than 160 thousands of infected people were quarantined there and took their last breaths. According to research and different studies, it has been reported that about 50 percent of the island soil consists of human remains. It is believed to be as the most haunted place on the planet. The place used to be a mental hospital after the plague, but after its growing sinister reputation, the place was closed and strictly forbidden to enter for anyone.
